Nightgowns
The very first item of feminine clothing my wife ever bought me, in fact lent me at first, before she bought me my own, was a nightgown. She was trying to do her best effort to support my desire to wear something feminine right from the start. The night after my tearful late night confession, she went digging through her closet and pulled out a couple of nightgowns that were a bit oversized on her, hoping they might fit me.
Now, I should probably point out that my wife has never been a fan of nightgowns. In fact, she pretty much hates them. The very few she owns were bought by me in the early days before I learned she couldn't stand them. So, she didn't mind handing them over to me at all if they fitted me.
To my delight, and thanks to the fact that I’d already been shedding a few pounds, they both fit. They weren't a perfect fit, but they were good enough for me to spend my very first couple nights in bed as Blanca.
A few days later, she took things a step further. She brought me to a department store and helped me try on a couple of nightgowns in my actual size, which involved a very rushed, top-secret like operation in the fitting room so nobody would notice. The advantage of a nightgown is that is pretty easy to put on and take off in a swift even without having to undress. I was in and out of the dressing room in record time.
That meant I could retire the first two she had given me, which was probably for the best. Not only were they slightly misshapen on me, but one of them was essentially a sheer babydoll gown. Now, don't get me wrong, I love feeling like a sexy woman, but I also don't necessarily want to sleep in a completely see-through piece of lingerie every single night of the week.
Though I have to admit... it didn't exactly start out feeling that way. In fact, I almost gave up on them after night one.
You have to remember that after 40 years of sleeping with a t-shirt covering my upper body up to my neck, and shorts or boxers, the first night I went to sleep in that strap-shoulder, sheer babydoll gown, well, I was cold lol! I had never slept "shirtless" or practically naked in my entire life, and that’s pretty much what it felt like.
Even the cotton nightgowns my wife bought me later, that were far less revealing, still left my shoulders, back, and upper chest completely exposed. It was an incredible feeling, but a weird one at the same time.
But I wasn't about to let a little chilly feeling ruin my incursion into femininity. I reasoned that if millions of women sleep in nightgowns and wear strapless or backless dresses regularly without freezing, it was probably just a matter of my body adapting. And sure enough, it was. Just like getting used to the silky, sensitive feeling of freshly shaved legs and all those new feminine sensations, my skin and body quickly adjusted.
Now I wouldn't trade my nightgowns for anything else. On nights when circumstances mean I can't sleep in one, I genuinely miss it. The pure freedom, lightness, and validation they provide at the end of a long day is unmatched by anything else.
